Position Summary:

Responsible for providing nutrition assessment and counseling to ensure services are provided to eligible participants


Principal Responsibilities:

  1. Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers
  2. Delivers a high level of customer service to assure positive patient experience
  3. Completes comprehensive nutrition health assessment to determine eligibility
  4. Develops and maintains network of social services, food and community resources
  5. Adheres to agency infection control and safety policies
  6. Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance


Job Competencies & Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BS in Dietetics, Food and Nutrition from accredited Plan IV, V or Didactic Program of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics OR Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
  2. Approval from NJ State WIC Office required
  3. Experience with culturally diverse population
  4. Strong communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
  5. Computer experience preferred
  6. Valid drivers license

Working Conditions/Physical Demand: Busy clinic environment at various locations in the community; ability to carry/lift 40 lbs; requires setting up tables and chairs; requires transporting supplies and equipment to clinics; responsible for laptop and related equipment
