  • Overview

    Community Health Center (CHC) offers comprehensive, community based, preventive, primary care and wellness services for New Jersey residents of all ages at four convenient locations.CHC health care services are designed to meet the specific needs of the entire family – from annual check-ups and immunizations to sick visits, mental health counseling and critical prenatal care. 


    We are currently looking for a Director of Nursing to join our team. The position would be responsible for providing oversight of the day to day nursing operations at all the CHC sites as well as supervising the nursing and the medical support staff.


    1. Plans and organizes nursing activities in accordance with established nursing, clinical and administrative practices of the health center while maintaining adherence to all Federal, State and Local standards, guidelines, and regulations
    2. Monitors the quality and appropriateness of the services provided to ensure patient satisfaction
    3. Ongoing training and education of staff members, including regular clinical competency assessments to ensure patient needs are met
    4. Plans and administers the budget and assumes financial responsibility for the nursing activities of the health center
    5. Establishes and maintains ongoing relationship with community organizations, agencies and staff
    6. Adheres to and enforces agency infection control and safety policies
    7. Develops, maintains and updates written policies and procedures
    8. Participates in Quality Improvement programs and submits reports as required
    9. Develops staff schedules and arranges for coverage when needed to fill gaps
    10. Sits on committees as determined by Executive Leadership


      1. RN with BSN required; Master’s in Nursing preferred
      2. CPR certification required
      3. 5+ years of experience in nursing supervision and nursing administration in a licensed health care facility
      4. Strong computer skills
      5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
      6. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
      7. Demonstrated leadership skills
      8. Ability and willingness to travel to other sites as needed


    Working Conditions/Physical Demand:

    Working indoors. Exposure to blood, body fluids and communicable diseases. Sitting, fine motor hand movement, standing, walking, lifting 40 pounds, pushing, reaching, pulling; working with Thermometer, sphygmomanometer, stethoscope, otoscope, ophthalmoscope, needles, syringes, EKG machine, venipuncture equipment, other diagnostic equipment, spirometry treatment, culture mediums, telephone, fax, photocopier, computer, printer.
