  • Overview

    Responsible for planning, directing and supervising all aspects of the Children and Family Health Institute, Advanced Care Institute and Foundation. Responsibilities include preparation of budgets, financial reporting, grant reporting and accounting.


    • Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers
    • Manages the accounting, financial analysis, budgeting and reporting of the Children and Family Health Institute, Advanced Care Institute, Foundation and all grants
    • Manages all grant expenditure reporting to funding agencies
    • Plans and prepares VNA (internal) and funder (external) grant budgets
    • Provides the P&L, Expenditure reports and projections to the program managers and directors
    • Supports the year-end financial audit for all areas of responsibility
    • Participates in all grant audits and contract monitoring
    • Supervises staff in conjunction with the organization’s managerial/leadership practices
    • Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
    • 7+ years of accounting experience with minimum of 5+ years of grant supervisory and grant agency reporting and compliance experience required; public accounting and broader finance healthcare experience a plus
    • Experience managing staff required
    • Excellent analytical skills and advanced computer skills required including MS Excel
    • Knowledge of Great Plains, Management Reporter accounting and grant submission software a plus
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Must possess outstanding interpersonal relationship skills with demonstrated ability to supervise others as well as frequent contacts with program managers, directors and senior management.
    • Expert ability in preparing financial statements in accordance with GAAP
