  • Overview

    Responsible for providing oversight and leadership for all activities related to the Learning & Development function of the Human Resources department while fostering an environment of accountability, excellence, collaboration, and innovation. This position will play a lead role in creating a continuous learning organization with high employee engagement.


    • This position will manage a team that supports VNAHG’s mission by providing expertise in the assessment, planning, implementation and measurement of learning and development interventions and solutions.
    • Create and deliver systems for performance coaching, talent management and succession planning.
    • Responsible for the design, delivery and implementation of custom learning solutions that build leader capabilities, enhance associate engagement, and improve team and individual performance to drive our strategic plan and business results.
    • Assess enterprise learning and development areas of opportunities across all levels. Identify and prioritize mission critical skills. Recommend, develop and implement customized learning strategies to meet short and long-term capability/skill requirements to effectively execute VNAHG strategy.
    • Design and develop quality organizational development and change management frameworks, processes, and tools to be leveraged throughout the HR function for assigned business units. This will include, but not be limited to, Organizational Design, Cultural Alignment, Change Management, Leadership/Stakeholders Alignment, and Business Change Initiatives.
    • Experience interpreting and applying culture, engagement, and social network analysis data to diagnose and address organizational challenges.
    • Develop organizational design skills that help effectively influence conversations about organizational strategy, culture, talent, and key processes.
    • Develop and implement effective solutions for strategic organizational growth and development.
    • Collaborate and assist in developing key HR metrics/analytics and scorecards to support the VNAHG mission and strategic plan.
    • Lead the use of the Culture Index Survey Tool for improving quality of hire, team design, performance improvement and other organizational and individual needs.
    • Partner with CHRO, HRBP, Talent Acquisition and the rest of HR to transform HR systems and processes to better serve the business, develop HR tools to deliver business value and streamline, simplify and standardize HR processes.
    • Policy owner for tuition reimbursement and administration
    • Learning Management System Champion – lead utilization, effectiveness and system administration


    • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or related field; Master’s degree preferred
    • 7+ years of relevant experience with at least 3 years health care experience
    • Expertise in the application of employee assessment tools, practices and research that meet professionally accepted standards for validity and reliability
    • Strong HR and business acumen with demonstrated success designing/delivering learning curricula including leadership development programs.
    • Excellent coaching, consultation and facilitation skills.
    • Superior interpersonal and influential skills. Ability to quickly establish and build effective relationships.
    • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities while working with urgency in the midst of a significant business/organizational transformation.
    • Strong technical skills including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
    • Excellent communication, analytical and visionary skills
