    Healthy Greater Newark Healthcare Coalition

     

    About Greater Newark Healthcare Coalition (GNHCC):  GNHCC works to create health equity for residents of the Greater Newark region by improving health care access and quality  and by fostering partnerships to improve health and well-being.  Chief strategies include (1) engaging in health policy planning and advocacy through data collection, analysis and dissemination, best practice research, and public education and (2) collaborating to develop initiatives aimed at identifying and eliminating health disparities and other barriers that lead to poor health outcomes.

     

    Position Summary:  Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Finance Manager is responsible for the maintenance of all accounting systems and procedures relative to the financial management of GNHCC, record­ keeping, record retention, budgets, property and fiscal management of contracts and grants.

    Responsibilities

    1. Supports organization's mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on postive interpersonal relationship with co-workers
    2. Monthly reconciliation of GNHCC financials in Quickbooks.
    3. Creation of an annual GNHCC budget.
    4. Creation and management of Grants budgets and expenditure reports.
    5. Supervise bookkeeping activities and procedures including but not limited to cash receipts, receivables and payables, invoice and payroll systems, general ledger,  computer,  insurance,  taxes,  petty  cash  and bank reconciliation.
    6. Liaison role with auditor identified by GNHCC for completion of annual fiscal audit.
    7. Preparation for and participation in monthly Finance Committee meetings as scheduled by the Treasurer.
    8. Adheres to the organization's policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance.

     

    Qualifications

    1. Bachelor’s degree with at least five year of relevant experience preferred
    2. Ability to prepare comprehensive recommendations, budgets and reports and meet deadlines
    3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    4. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
    5. Must be an effective communicator
    6. Knowledge of Quickbooks and Excel computer programs is required
    7. Performs other related duties as assigned

    Working Conditions/Physical Demand: Able to use a computer, cell phone, other office machines such as fax, copy, and scanner.
