Employee Health Nurse-Coordinator (RN)

Leadership in Caring for our Caregivers

 

 

 

The Employee Health Nurse-Coordinator works closely with employees and management to provide safe and quality occupational health care. The Employee Health Nurse-Coordinator uses a systematic process of assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation. This is a multi-faceted and diverse nursing position that will interface with all of the VNAHG's service lines in our NJ, Ohio, and Florida locations. This includes Home Health, Hospice, the Community Health Center, Children and Family Health Institute and Visiting Physicians Services. This nurse works to ensure a safe workforce and workplace.

Responsibilities

 

Among the Key Responsibilities of the Employee Health Nurse-Coordinator: 

 

Employee Health & Wellness

    • Manage pre-employment physical medical approvals and denials
    • Review and supply recommendations on employee accommodation requests
    • Attend, present, and teach at monthly new hire clinical orientation 
    • Manage annual vaccination programs for employees
    • Provide health checks, resources, and support to employees that are being monitored by employee health
    • Conduct exposure investigations as needed for infectious diseases
    • Provide education to staff regarding wellness and disease/injury prevention
    • Partners with HR organization to provide excellent employee experience and compassionate care

Workers Compensation

 

    • Assist with the integration of new worker’s compensation provider
    • Develop yourself into the worker’s comp subject matter expert at the VNA Health Group, with training provided by Employee Health peers and external broker.
    • Serve as the lead educator on worker’s compensation claims
    • Manage worker’s compensation and human resources employee accommodation requests and design new return-to-work programs with the Director of Employee Health
    • Analyze repeat claims, providing recommendations and interventions on outcomes

The Employee Health Nurse-Coordinator will perform other duties that may emerge due to a business or public health need.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Employee Health Nurse-Coordinator will have the following qualifications:

  • New Jersey RN license in good standing
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • 3-5 years of professional experience required
  • Demonstrated strong consulting and leadership coaching skills
  • Communication skills – ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization demonstrating tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity
  • Excellent Clinical Judgement and Documentation skills
  • Critical thinking, decision making and proven relationship building skills
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment
  • Ability to travel to our regional offices on occasion

 

 

Working Conditions/Physical Demand: Working in a hybrid in-person and remote environment with phone and computer use
