Overview

Responsible for providing direct nursing care to prenatal clients of childbearing age, assessment, health promotion and screening, disease prevention and education at the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey Community Health Center.

Responsibilities

  • Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers
  • Assists Certified Nurse Midwife/MD with prenatal patient workflow and maintains accurate clinical records
  • Assesses clients appropriately to ensure quality care is provided to patients
  • Performs related duties as directed in accordance with the ACOG standard operating procedures
  • Maintains required electronic logs and electronic health records
  • Maintains  laboratory proficiency and tracks required labs for all prenatal patients
  • Assists in coordination, management and documentation of medications, supplies, and referrals
  • Utilizes opportunities for client teaching of individuals, families and community groups
  • Adheres to agency infection control and safety policies
  • Participates in community outreach to promote CHC services and programs
  • Adheres to the organizations policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance
  • Omission of specific duties does not exclude them from this position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment for this position

Qualifications

  • RN; BSN preferred
  • 2 years of clinical nursing experience providing prenatal and/or labor and delivery within the past five years
  • 1+ years of ambulatory care experience at a Community Health Center preferred
  • Current CPR certification
  • Venipuncture certification preferred
  • Bilingual preferred- Haitian Creole and/or Spanish
  • Car and valid driver’s license
