Community Health Center (CHC) offers comprehensive, community based, preventive, primary care and wellness services for New Jersey residents of all ages at four convenient locations.CHC health care services are designed to meet the specific needs of the entire family – from annual check-ups and immunizations to sick visits, mental health counseling and critical prenatal care. 

 

Responsible for assisting in providing care for patients of the Medical Department as part of Health Care Team for the LGBTQ Center for Health and Wellness and Ryan White program.

Responsibilities

 

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationships with co-workers in a Team Based Care model
  • Assists provider with patient workflow and maintaining clinical records
  • Executes orders and performs related duties as ordered according to standard operating procedures
  • Maintains laboratory proficiency and required records
  • Assists in coordination, management and documentation of medications, supplies, referrals, and prior authorizations
  • Adheres to agency infection control and safety policies
  • Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance
  • Omission of specific duties does not exclude them from this position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment for this position.

Qualifications

Job Competencies & Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Medical Assistant Certificate from an approved school
  • 6 month+ of supervised medical assistant experience preferred
  • Experience in EKG and phlebotomy
  • CPR certification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Valid New Jersey Driver’s license
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish/Haitian Creole) preferred

 

Working Conditions/Physical Demand: Working indoors with telephone, copier, fax machine, computer, printer, centrifuge, electric exam table, glucometer, nebulizer, needles/syringes, oxygen equipment, scales, sphygmomanometer, stethoscope, thermometer, venipuncture equipment, wheelchair.
