VNA Health Group is moving healthcare forward.  We are currently looking for a Palliative Physician to join our team.  The Palliative Physican will be responsible for ensuring delivery of high quality care practices in the treatment of symptoms and promoting the highest quality of life for homebound patients and their families.

Responsibilities

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers and allied healthcare providers
  • Provides direct medical services and consultation to palliative care homebound and hospitalized patients and families within established productivity guidelines
  • Monitors the patient’s condition and responsiveness to the treatment provided
  • Maintains complete patient records using the Electronic Medical record and complies with all reporting mechanisms
  • Ensures compliance with the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services Ambulatory Care Regulations for Licensure as well as requirements of other licensing and accrediting bodies, health maintenance organizations and other insurance carriers
  • Acts as an agency representative with patients and their families as well as with other health agencies, groups and organizations
  • Collaborates in the provision of formal and informal education for staff and helps to promote the value of palliative medicine
  • Adheres to agency infection control and safety policies, and guidelines of regulatory agencies
  • Participates in community outreach programs regarding Palliative Care services and programs

Qualifications

Job Competencies & Minimum Qualifications:

  • Licensed as a physician in New Jersey with education and experience in primary care settings
  • Geriatric and Palliative Care experience recommended
  • Board certified in family practice or internal medicine
  • Active CDS and DEA license
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Car and valid NJ driver’s license

 

Working Conditions/Physical Demand: Traveling to patients’ homes.  Exposure to blood, body fluids and communicable diseases. Sitting, fine motor hand movement, standing, walking, lifting 40 pounds, pushing, reaching, pulling
