Overview

Responsible for providing comprehensive care to HIV patients 16 years of age and older, including preventative care and management of common and complex diseases. The Internist/ HIV specialist must be able to effectively diagnose patients and suggest a course of treatment and prescribe and administer medications, immunizations, and other non-surgical treatments.  Cultural sensitivity to members of the LGBTQIA+ community is essential.  This is a part time role (1 day a week).

Responsibilities

  1. Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers
  2. Provides direct patient care and consultation to CHC primary care patients
  3. Maintenance of a clinic panel of people living with HIV and other patients appropriate to ongoing infectious disease oversight
  4. Prescribe or administer medication, therapy and other specialized medical care to treat or preven illness, disease or injury
  5. Provide health and wellness advice; order age appropriate screenings, immunize patients against preventable diseases
  6. Maintains complete patient records using the Electronic Medical record and complies with all reporting mechanisms
  7. Ensures compliance with the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services Ambulatory Care Regulations for Licensure as well as requirements of other licensing and accrediting bodies, health maintenance organizations and other insurance carriers
  8. Collaborates in the provision of in-service education for staff
  9. Adheres to CHC infection control and safety policies, and guidelines of regulatory agencies
  10. Participates in community outreach programs regarding CHC services and programs

 

Qualifications

  1. Graduate of an accredited medical or osteopathic school with MD, DO or equivalent degree.  Successful completion of accredited Residency program. Community or ambulatory health experience is preferred
  2. Unrestricted New Jersey Physician License
  3. Board certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  4. Active CDS  and DEA registration
  5. Valid NJ driver’s license
