Overview

Responsible for promoting health and safety in the school environment by providing the quality and quantity of health care services to school aged children. The position will be full-time a 9 month school year schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers.
  • Provides primary care services to school-aged children
  • Collaborates with appropriate health care providers and school personnel to ensure continuity of health care
  • Refers children, school employees, and parents to appropriate community resources
  • Assists in orientation of new advanced practice school-based employees
  • Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance

                                                                                                                                     

Qualifications

  • Licensure as an advanced practice RN in NJ, Masters degree in nursing from an NLN accredited program and certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
  • 2 + years of primary or ambulatory care nursing experience preferred; experience working with a culturally diverse population
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal with ability to supervise others
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite required
