Community Health Center (CHC) offers comprehensive, community based, preventive, primary care and wellness services for New Jersey residents of all ages at four convenient locations. CHC health care services are designed to meet the specific needs of the entire family, from annual check-ups and immunizations to sick visits, mental health counseling and critical prenatal care. 

 

We are currently looking for a Certified Medical Assistant, Primary Care - Float to join our team.  The position would be responsible for assisting in providing care for patients of the Primary Care Department as part of Health Care Team and would be assigned to one of our four locations – Asbury Park, Keyport, Freehold, and Red Bank as needed.  When clinics are fully staffed with CMAs, the CMA-Float person would work on other administrative tasks, as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers
• Assists provider with patient workflow and maintaining clinical records
• Executes order and performs related duties as ordered according to standard operating procedure
• Maintains laboratory proficiency and required log books and records
• Assists in coordination, management and documentation of medications, supplies and referrals
• Assists in administrative functions including prior authorizations, scanning, review of incoming patient care-related faxes, and other assigned tasks
• Adheres to agency infection control and safety policies
• Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance
• Omission of specific duties does not exclude them from this position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment for this position

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• Medical Assistant Certificate from an approved school
• 6 month+ of supervised medical assistant experience preferred
• Experience in EKG and phlebotomy, certification required
• CPR certification
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Valid New Jersey Driver’s license

Working Conditions/Physical Demand: Working indoors with telephone, copier, fax machine, computer, printer, centrifuge, electric exam table, glucometer, nebulizer, needles/syringes, oxygen equipment, personal automobile, scales, sphygmomanometer, stethoscope, thermometer, venipuncture equipment, wheelchair.
