We are currently looking for a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team on a per diem basis.  This person is responsible for providing physical therapy treatment and related tasks to patients in their homes or alternate community settings under the direction or supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist in Mercer County.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers.
    2. Follows plan of care outlined by the Physical Therapist in their Evaluation or Reassessment.
    3. Documents the treatment provided in the patient record.
    4. Participates in organizational wide QAPI and in-service programs
    5. Adheres to agency infection control and safety policies
    6. Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education.
  • Licensed in the state of practice
  • Minimal of 1 year experience but 2 plus years preferred as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
  • Home care experience preferred
  • CPR certification required.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to work well under pressure, within strict time parameters, and with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Working Conditions/Physical Demand:
Field Environment:
1. Travel by car
2. Exposure to changing weather conditions; sometimes driving in inclement weather
3. Varied residential environments, based on assigned caseload
4. May be exposed to resident waste, tissue and blood products; required to use personal protective equipment and universal precautions accordingly
5. May be exposed to infectious pathogens, virus and disease
6. May be exposed to combative patients and/or patients with delirium/confusion


Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to communicate with others (verbal and written) and exchange accurate information
2. Close and mid-distance visual acuity
3. Manual dexterity to operate general office equipment, such as phone, computer.
4. Ability to remain in stationary position for extended periods of time
5. Ability to carry 15 pounds while walking or climbing stairs
6. Ability to squat, kneel, bend, reach and grasp (while bending) to assist a 250 pound patient to their feet from a sitting position and to assist the patient back to a sitting position

 

In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the total compensation range for this position is USD $33,280 to USD $87,500.08. When determining an offer, VNA Health Group considers factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's work experience, education/training, relevant skills, internal pay equity, and market and organizational conditions. The total compensation range reflects the total package, including base salary, overtime, bonuses, add-on incentives, special clinical compensation, retirement plans, and all other benefits.
