VNACJ Community Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with a mission of building healthy communities and enhancing well-being. We are seeking a mission-driven, culturally competent Medical Director to provide clinical expertise and strategic leadership across our FQHC network. The ideal candidate will be passionate about health equity and dedicated to delivering patient-centered care to underserved populations. This individual will also serve as a mentor and collaborator to other providers, fostering a culture of inclusion, continuous improvement, and clinical excellence.

 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care as a practicing physician. The incumbent will deliver 40% direct patient care and 60% administration. This may fluctuate based on patient and business needs.
  • Champion health equity and clinical excellence for all patients, with a special focus on underserved communities.
  • Guide and support providers in culturally responsive care delivery, adapting best practices for diverse populations.
  • Lead or participate in quality improvement initiatives, compliance efforts, and clinical best practice adoption.
  • Collaborate with operational and clinical leaders to align care models with community needs and organizational goals.
  • Serve as a mentor and clinical resource for provider staff, including new physicians, nurse practitioners, and care teams.
  • Support strategic planning, clinical performance management, and new program development.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • MD from an accredited medical school.
  • Active New Jersey medical license in good standing.
  • Board Certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or a related primary care specialty.
  • Minimum of 10 years clinical experience as a practicing physician.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a clinical leadership role (e.g., Medical Director, Department Chair, Chief of Service) preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working with underserved and underinsured populations, preferably in FQHC or public health settings.
  • Proven ability to lead with cultural humility and coach others in cross-cultural care delivery.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and team-building skills.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical quality standards, regulatory guidelines, and value-based care models.

In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the total compensation range for this position is USD $235,000 to USD $275,000. When determining an offer, VNA Health Group considers factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's work experience, education/training, relevant skills, internal pay equity, and market and organizational conditions. The total compensation range reflects the total package, including base salary, overtime, bonuses, add-on incentives, special clinical compensation, retirement plans, and all other benefits.
